Best Friends Pet Care To Throw 'Paw-ty' Today - Patch.com

Pet parents have entrusted Best Friends Pet Care with the care of their dogs and cats for more than 14 million pet nights nationwide over the past two decades.

To say thanks, the Best Friends at 3633 Garfield Avenue in Carmichael is hosting an anniversary "paw-ty" today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with pet adoptions, activities for dogs and kids, and treats for pets and people.

Pet lovers who can't attend the party can stop in today from 1 to 6 p.m. to pick up free doggy ice cream and cookies. Guests also will have the chance to win special 20th anniversary prizes, including a trip for four to Walt Disney World Resort. "We're very excited to share our anniversary celebration with the community," sBest Friends manager Julia Didway said in a released statement. "We are lucky to have so many loyal clients and friends. We want to thank them and, we hope, make some new friends, too."

Best Friends owns and operates 42 full-service pet care centers across the U.S., including at Walt Disney World Resort where Best Friends is the exclusive pet care provider. Founded in 1992, the company employs more than 1,000 people nationwide.

Best Friends Pet Care changed the face of pet boarding by creating the first national hotel chain for pets and by offering comprehensive pet care – boarding, grooming and training -- under one roof. Other innovations have included: its doggy day camp program; the first online reservation system in the industry; introductions of webcams; use of social media; and its travelling Treat Truck, which visits dog parks giving away canine ice cream and cookies.
